CMS 1500 - The most basic way to
print and send an insurance claim using QuickPractice. Claims
will be printed onto a pre-formatted CMS-1500 form which you
have purchased and loaded into your office printer. If you
select this option without having loaded the pre-formatted
forms, only black text will appear and the form will not be
usable. To view the procedure for printing insurance claims,

-
Blank Paper - Choosing this option
prints not only the black text from patient info, case info,
charges etc, but also the image of the CMS-1500 form itself.
Some insurance carriers will accept claims generated in this
manner, while others require that the claim is printed onto the
pre-formatted form explained above. This feature is useful when
printing claims for office record keeping purposes and proof of
sales/charges/services.
-
Print to File - Print to file is
typically chosen by users who have their insurance claims
delivered to the carrier, but by a clearinghouse besides
QuickPractice (i.e. a third party clearing house). Generally, a
batch of insurance claims is "printed" and stored as a text
(.txt) formatted file on computer hard drive. After the text
file has been created, it is uploaded to whatever clearinghouse
has been contracted to process your insurance claims.
! IMPORTANT: If you are using the
print to file feature to generate insurance claims,
QuickPractice is not responsible for ensuring that your claims
are processed by the clearinghouse and insurance company unless
rejections are directly related to the way in which the software
is mapping information to the insurance claim.
-
QuickPrint - This method is
reserved for users who are contracted to generate claims via
QuickPractice's electronic billing services. Whenever an
insurance company does not process electronically transmitted
insurance claims, this feature can be used to transmit the
claim to QuickPractice's servers, where it will then be printed
and sent to the carrier from our office. This ensures that the
user will never print a claim in their own office.
-
Electronically - This option
refers to QuickPractice's QuickBilling service. When this option
is selected, claims are generated and then transmitted to
QuickPractice's servers and then finally to the insurance
carrier without anything ever being printed. To learn more about
billing your insurance claims electronically, click
